Glenn De Caire’s law enforcement career spanned more than 35 years. He served the communities of Toronto and Hamilton in a variety of functions, including front-line operations, investigations, and administration. Glenn proudly served as the Chief of Police for the Hamilton Police Service until January 2016. He is currently Director, McMaster University Security & Parking Services.
Glenn is a graduate of York University, Toronto, and of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He graduated from the latter in 2001 as Class Valedictorian, the second international student in the Academy’s history to be so honoured. He maintains professional certifications with the Ontario Municipal Managers Institute as a Certified Municipal Manager III and with the Canadian Institute of Management as a Professional Manager (in 2008) and a Chartered Manager (2016).
Glenn continues to serve the community in Hamilton as a volunteer with local charities. He has actively supported Liberty for Youth, CityKidz, the Eva Rothwell Centre, Catholic Youth Organization Camp Marydale and Camp Brébeuf, and the Good Shepherd.
Glenn is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Police Exemplary Long Service Medal, and is an Officer in the Order of Merit of Police Forces. He proudly serves the Argylls as a member of its Regimental Senate.
